Constantin Alexandru

==Career==

Alexandru was a member of the Greco-Roman wrestling section of CSA Steaua București in the light-flyweight (48 kg–52 kg) weight division. He won in 1973 the Junior World title in the 48 kg division, followed by two senior World titles in 1978 and 1979. He took part in the 1976 Summer Olympics, but was stopped by an injury in the first round. He took second place in the 1980 Summer Olympics, bringing Romanian their 100th Olympic medal. He also won five European championships (1974, 1975, 1977, 1978, and 1979).〔
After his retirement as an athlete he became a coach at CSA Steaua, then for the Romanian national team. He was also an international referee.〔
